The Guest & Bunk House

The Guest & Bunk Houses

Terraced into the hillside

Perched above the main residence and terraced into the hillside, these exceptional homes offer expansive western-facing views of the islands of San Juan, Vancouver, Jones, Spieden and Waldron. Expansive windows and doors frame magnificent sunsets, while new granite-sliced steps, meandering pathways and contemporary landscape lighting connect the homes seamlessly.

Fully Remodeled

Both homes were fully remodeled in 2018, retaining their original footprint and metal roofs. Premium Kebony wood—an eco-conscious, low-maintenance alternative to tropical hardwoods—was used for new view decks, stairs, siding, and soffits. Elegant custom steel handrails with Kebony caps enhance the exterior, while Marvin contemporary ebony-clad windows, doors, and Crystalite custom skylights fill the interiors with natural light.

Each home is outfitted with Daikin high-efficiency heat pumps and ducted AC systems with wall-mounted thermostats, as well as security camera systems.

The Guest House:

At approximately 750 sq. ft., the guesthouse offers an elegant and fully self-contained retreat with a 349 sq. ft. view deck. Inside, a custom Euro white oak kitchen features a generous island with seating, Super White honed Pental Quartz countertops, and a full linear-tile backsplash for a sleek, contemporary finish. Designer dimmable pendants, Bosch appliances, and a built-in pantry with microwave make the space ideal for longer stays. In the main living spaces, motorized shades provide effortless privacy and precise light control.

The dramatic original wood-beam ceiling, restored through meticulous sandblasting, brings warmth and texture to the modern interior. In the bedroom and living room, Noguchi pendant lights cast a soft, ambient glow, adding a tranquil finishing touch.

The spa-inspired bathroom showcases dual floating oak vanities, mirrored cabinets, wall-mounted faucets, and radiant-heated porcelain tile floors. Frameless matte-glass walls create a seamless walk-in shower experience with zero-threshold entry.

The bedroom area accommodates a king-size bed with built-in floating nightstands and custom drapery. The spacious walk-in closet has an LG stacked washer/dryer and custom organization including a built in hutch, hamper and more.

Your guests may never leave!

The Bunk House:

At approximately 597 sq. ft. with a generous 490 sq. ft. wraparound view deck, the bunk house offers exceptional flexibility—ideal as a creative studio, additional guest space, or a future bunk room. The home is perched above the other structures and has it’s own gated private driveway. A full wall of sliding glass doors opens to breathtaking water views and new skylight, bringing the outdoors in and filling the space with light and air.

Inside, sleek Ultramatte white acrylic cabinetry divides the living space from the sleeping area, anchored by wide-plank DuChâteau white oak floors. Matte gray Pental Quartz countertops and a large-format linear tile backsplash elevate the kitchenette, which includes a Blanco Silgranit sink and under-counter U-Line refrigerator with freezer. The bathroom withe shower features radiant heated porcelain tile floors and a linen closet already pre-plumbed for a washer/dryer.

Additional touches include ripple-fold drapery from The Shade Store, a built-in ceiling speaker system with subwoofer, and extra crawl space storage—making the bunk house as practical as it is beautiful.

The space is grounded by large-format tile flooring with the elegant look of poured concrete—providing a clean, modern foundation that contrasts beautifully with the warmth of the oak ceiling above. At center stage, a solid reclaimed oak table seats ten, illuminated by a trio of Tom Dixon Beat pendants that cast a sculptural golden glow.

Tucked just off the dining room, the custom coffee and wine bar room is completely wrapped in European white oak, designed for both beauty and performance. It features a Sub-Zero wine cooler and beverage center, a built-in plumbed Miele coffee system, stone countertops, a prep sink, and a discreet Miele warming drawer for effortless entertaining. Accordion-style upper cabinets open with sensor lighting to reveal crystal and glassware, enhancing the ambiance.

Whether hosting a dinner party or sipping a quiet morning latte, this refined space effortlessly blends form and function.
